ABOUT SPEAKER:

She embarked on an academic journey by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics at the University of Curaçao after completing high school in 2013. Her fervor for research ignited during this time, propelling me to pursue a Master of Science in Finance at the University of Groningen following my graduation in 2016. In 2017, she transitioned into a doctoral role within the Department of Economics, Econometrics, and Finance at the same institution. Her dedication extended to a lecturing role from 2021 to 2023, where her taught statistics, mathematics, and financial management to economics/business students at different levels. Currently, as a Statistical Researcher at the Central Bureau of Statistics Netherlands, her focus on inflation in the Caribbean Netherlands. Complementing my academic prowess, she founded a research company, co-founded a coaching business with my sister, and she’s engaged in various entrepreneurial ventures.

Her main research interests are in household financial behavior, financial literacy, financial education, (Caribbean) Small Island Developing States, and health economics.
